(1) The total output of the forging industry has increased from 3.84 million tons in 2006 to 7.76 million tons in 2009. The number of enterprises above designated size has increased from over 400 to over 450, and the number of employees has grown from over 120000 to over 135000.

(2) Material utilization rate: Cold and warm forgings account for over 90%, hot precision forgings account for an average of 85%, and ordinary die forgings account for an average of 75%; The average free forging rate is 68%. The average advanced level of ordinary die forgings abroad is 84%.

(3) Energy consumption: The comprehensive energy consumption per ton of forgings is 0.83 tons of standard coal, while in Japan, the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of forgings is 0.52 tons of standard coal.

(4) Productivity: The average shift production for manual operation of cold and warm forgings is 1000-2000 pieces, and the average shift production for automated operation of walking beam robots is 5000 pieces. At present, the vast majority of enterprises still operate manually.

(5) Total labor productivity: 52 tons/person * year in China; 175 tons/person * year overseas.

(6) Import and export situation: Some of the few varieties such as cold forged automotive bevel gears have been exported to the United States. Overall, there are exports, but mostly limited to mid to low-end products. There are imports, mainly
